Dark Forest

Through the dark forest they ran
Guns in hand, searching for the child
Taken by a murderous man
Understanding led them here
Full of fear, they shouted at the sight
Of her plight, a knife raised to take
Her life. They cried for him to stop
And to drop the deadly sharp steel
He couldn’t feel the dread he inspired
Shots fired dropped him instead
He lay dead in the forest dark

I wrote this poem about the TV show Criminal Minds. My poem Masks is also about it. I love this show. It was recently renewed for two more seasons, so enjoy!
