Don’t Ask

In the time we have together
We find our hidden hopes
Our joy expressed in the love we feel
And the darkness inside, we hide

We wish to be another’s dreams
Yet we don’t know our own
We run from our pursuing demons
To the embrace of loving arms

So don’t ask what we’re thinking
Don’t look beneath the surface
Just pretend there is nothing else
Than the time we have together
