Lord, thank you for the rain
I love its sound when those heavy clouds drain
Soaking the Earth until
Its sweet fragrance is revealed.
I love its taste, purified high above
Gentle kisses of your love
Its touch is yours, I feel
With the ability to cleanse and heal.
Whether a light sprinkling or a great downpour
It is a spectacle I adore
How I love to watch it fall
A billion little blessings, enriching us all.
I know it will cool these hot summer days
So my soul sings joyful praise
While I listen for its beat against my window pane
I thank you, Lord, for the rain.
